Is your body ready for an action-packed life?
Are you enjoying outdoor activities, adventures, having fun with your family and friends, and able to EASILY go through your daily activities…with energy to spare!?
Who wouldn’t want that! I know I do!
Having strong muscles makes each one of those things easier and can even improve your overall confidence. And of course, your overall health.
7 Surprising Reasons Your Muscles Matter…
-
Muscle helps your body manage your blood sugar.
When you work out, your muscles use more glucose, which is the sugar in your bloodstream. And over time, this can help lower your blood sugar levels.

Plus, it helps your body improve how it uses insulin which can help ward off metabolic issues and diabetes.

 -
They keep you STRONG.
Muscles power all of your activities…from walking, golfing, gardening, biking, hiking, dancing, climbing stairs, or strolling on the beach!

The thing is you need to work them on a regular basis to keep them strong.
Did you know that you start to lose muscle mass at at the age of 30 and the rate increases as you get older.  So, let’s get those muscles moving!

 -
Muscle helps you burn more calories.
Not just while you’re being active, but round the clock. Studies show that 10 pounds of muscle will burn 50 calories in a day, while 10 pounds of fat burns just 20 calories.

This might not seem like a lot, but over time, it all adds up.

-
It’s good for your mood and self-esteem.
When you have strong, balanced muscles, you usually have better posture. And better posture is connected to better moods and more confidence!

-
It’s good for your joints AND your bones.
Regular exercise that strengthens the muscles around your joints can help them move better and be less painful.

I can vouch for this!
Because I had trained my muscles a lot, my pain in my knee was not as bad as it could have been (I have severe osteoarthritis) and my knee replacement happened years later!

Weight-bearing exercises can help you build your bones and keep them strong as you age.

 -
It keeps you alive. Your heart is a muscle, after all!
Exercise strengthens your heart muscle, helps with weight control, and helps prevent damage to your arteries caused by high cholesterol, blood sugar, and blood pressure.

-
It improves your QUALITY of LIFE.
It can give you the energy and strength to be active and try new things! To be able to do the things you love to do!
Personally, when I’m tempted to skip a workout (yes, that happens to me sometimes, too!), I just think about ALL of the reasons not to. And they always seem to outweigh my moment of laziness!Â
My other trick is to put my shoes and exercise clothes on and just get started with permission to not continue if I don’t feel like it.  Well, once started, I always keep going.Â
Comment below and let me know your reasons to exercise and/or how you motivate yourself to move.
