8 Ways To Keep Your Joints Healthy!

Do you have pain in your joints?

Are they inflamed?

Do you have arthritis?

I have osteoarthritis in both my knees!  It can be painful at times; especially when it is humid out.  However, I have learned some strategies a long the way that have helped me out and have allowed me to continue to be active.  The picture above is me hiking the Inca Trail in Peru!

Keep Moving!
We tend to think that if we do an activity or exercise, it will cause more pain or damage to our arthritic joints. The fact of the matter is, that movement helps with the stiffness in our joints.

Bend, Straighten, and Stretch!
By keeping our range of motion where it should be, the joint will feel better.  Make this a daily habit!

Build Up The Muscles!
Building the muscles up around the joint will provide it with the support it needs! It will also help increase the stability of the joint. However when training with weights, make sure you don’t overdo it.

Listen To Your Body!
If there is pain, stop!  If an activity or exercise is causing you pain, do not push through it. It is time to take a break and reassess the types of activities that you are doing.

Types Of Exercises
When deciding on which types of exercises or activities you will do, select those that are low impact. High impact activities will put too much stress on your joint. Some great activities are walking, cycling, swimming, golfing, cross country skiing, etc.

Weight Management!
It is important to maintain a healthy weight. Any extra weight that we carry will add stress to our joints; especially the weight-bearing joints. Studies are showing that for every 1 pound of weight lost, there is a 4 pound reduction in the load placed on our knees!

Nutrition!
What we eat also plays a role in how our joints feel. We need to stay away from inflammation causing foods such as processed and high sugar foods.  Try eating more fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and whole grains. These will help to keep your body from being too acidic!

Add Superfoods To Your Diet
In addition to the above, I have added a few superfoods to my diet which have helped me with my osteoporosis and joint pain and inflammation.

Apothe Cherry:  Click on the image below to watch a short video

Joint Flex:  Contains a variety of herbs used to support healthy joint function. It can support the body’s response to inflammation, help increase mobility and flexibility, and restore vitality!

I have been using both the Apothe Cherry and Joint Flex on a regular basis for the past year and it has had a definite impact on the well being of my joints!
